In 2004, Kate Dawson created what is believed to be the world’s first onesie. Designed to keep her daughter Lily, a turbulent sleeper, warm at night as she continuously kicked off the duvet, Kate produced a practical but beautifully crafted garment we’d all come to love. Demand from friends and family to make similar products led Kate to launch the business we now know as All In One in 2009.
Focusing on superior quality, bespoke onesies, manufactured by Master Craftsmen in Britain, Kate successfully grew the business over the next 12 years, delivering onesies to more than 50 countries. A celebrity following was quickly established including, Holly Willoughby, Pete Andre, One Direction, Ferne Cotton, Tom Daly, Laura Trott and all housemates on Channel 4’s, Big Brother, spotted wearing AIO onesies.
Kate was awarded an OBE in 2018 for her amazing work and dedication to supporting British craftsmanship.
In 2021, Kate made the difficult but hard-earned decision to retire from the day to day running of the business and the brand was acquired by a small but determined group of people who had supported the business in recent years and who understood that whilst things needed to move on, the soul of the business was here to stay. This group have the drive, vision, ambition and determination to continue evolving the brand by exploring new styles, modern fabrics and environmental credentials whilst staying true to the original values. AIO will continue manufacturing high quality, functional and timelessly fashionable products in the UK that embrace comfort with styling suitable for indoor and outdoor wear.
